539920 - The number of unread messages associated to each folder doesn't refresh

I have several folders in Thuderbird under my Inbox (a simple POP3, not IMAP). And I have set filters that automatically move messages in these folders as soon as they're received in the inbox.

The problem is the following: next to each folder you can see the number of unread messages. However this number is not refreshed until I click on each folder. Just after a click I can see the real number of unread email in a folder. 
Moreover when you close thunderbird and open again, this unread number is still not updated, and you have to click again manually on each folder.

So, the number of unread mail next to a folder is not refreshed until I click on it. 

Never experienced this issue with Thunderbird 2, which I had been using for years, just appeared with version 3.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open thunderbird
2. Check the folder with unread messages (number written next to in between parenthesis) clicking on it
3. Discover that that folder has not unread messages at all (that unread number simply was not updated) or that you have less/more unread email than the number which was written next to the folder before u clicked on it. 



This issue is quite similar to Bug 492951 (which is supposed to be resolved) but not exactly the same, as you have to click on the folder, and it appears with normal folders and not with newsgroups.
