Apple's so-called LOM is not really usefull, since it doesn't get remote access to the display/input, so when the machine fails to boot proprely, there is nothing I can do about it myself.

With one of those, I can fully manage it remotely, just like the other gear (which has great built-in LOM capabilities).

Goes for 580$ on Amazon.
As demonstrated by the last Xserve outage, this wouldn't even have helped, as the machine needed the physical power button to be accessed.
