Hi,

after years of using firefox I finally found out how to adapt the user interface to the high-resolution screen I am using. Two things bother me though:

1. The "layout.css.devPixelsPerPx" setting is quite hidden. I would strongly prefer firefox to offer that more conveniently. I'd even suggest to scale the complete user interface directly with the windows dpi settings - not just the text.

2. The UI's icons become quite ugly. I'd suggest using scalable graphics for them (favicons are problematic, I know, but boxing them like IE or scaling them seem fine to me).

Regards, Fabian

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Start firefox
2. change layout.css.devPixelsPerPx
3. that's it
Actual Results:
ugly icons

Expected Results:
pretty icons
see bug 537890 - note that the dpi can be different screen per screen if you have multiple monitors !
jep, would be nice if other Software manufacturers including Microsoft would finally realize that, too. I'm glad one doesn't need administrative rights to change the setting in Windows anymore.

... But until the day arrives when people will finally be able to set dpi settings per monitor, having the option to set dpi-settings for the whole system is likely to be the way to go to prevent eye cancer. ;)
Furthermore: you already offer the option. All I'm asking for is to offer it properly.
