This is a new problem that did not occur with the last versions of Camino.

If I am listening to Sirius' online player (need subscription to listen) or my local ESPN's internet feed (http://www.101espn.com/streaming/wxos/player.php) the player window cannot be minimized to dock.  If I minimize either of these players, the audio feed will stop within 4 or 5 seconds.  Once I maximize it again, it starts playing.  The player window does not have to be in the forefront (ie, all my other windows can be in front of it), so it's not a huge deal, just a minor inconvenience.  

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.  Open Sirius player or ESPN player (http://www.101espn.com/streaming/wxos/player.php)
2.  Start streaming the audio
3.  Minimize the player window to the dock
4.  It will stop playing for no reason
5.  If you maximize it from dock, it will start playing again
Actual Results:  
It stopped playing with minimized, it started up again once maximized

Expected Results:  
It used to (in prior Caminos) stream flawlessly even when minimized to the dock

I love Camino. I searched for this bug already reported, but didn't find anything.  Sorry if it has been previously reported.

What plugin is handling that on your end, any idea? I ask because it *appears* (though I'm not totally sure) to be handled by the Flip4Mac WMV plugin on my computer, and I can't even get that URL to load in Camino without hanging the browser. (I tried in both a recent trunk nightly and in 2.0.1, both with clean profiles.)

For reference, I'm on 10.6/Intel, so it's possible this is a 10.6-specific hang. I see you're on 10.5.

When you say it "worked in prior Caminos", what versions do you mean?

Does an equivalent version of Firefox (Camino 1.6 = Firefox 2.x; Camino 2.0.x = Firefox 3.0.x) have the same problem? How about Safari?

And finally, do you have another public example for us? That station just went off the air temporarily because they don't have the rights to stream whatever's on right now, which is gonna make this difficult to test for the next several hours.

In prior Caminos I meant before 2.0, I think... 

I use Flip4Mac, version 2.2.1.11

It works minimized in Safari and Chrome.  I don't have firefox to test that though.

I don't have any other examples of non-working sites.  I only listen to espn, sirius, and adam carolla.  Carolla's podcast works, even when minimized.

There's a newer version of Flip4Mac available, and that might be why I'm experiencing the hangs. I don't have an older version handy to go back to, but you might want to try the new one just to see if it causes hangs for you, too. (Be sure to save the Flip4Mac plugin in (~)/Library/Internet Plug-ins/ first, so you can easily revert to the older version if needed.) At this point, it sounds like Camino is basically useless for you for these particular sites, so there's not much to lose ;)

I saw that I needed to update.. after getting newest Flip4Mac, still same problem

Camino still works for the sirius and espn, i just keep the window up, behind stuff, instead of minimized to the dock

Carolla's podcast uses the Flash plug-in. I've often listened to Red Wings games live on the local Detroit radio station with a Flash-based player and minimized the window with no issues, so it doesn't surprise me that the podcast works for you.

It sounds like this is a bug in the Flip4Mac plugin, but it'd be nice to be able to provide them with a reliable public testcase before we kick this to Core:Plugins (or simply mark it INVALID). It'd also be nice to know if you can reproduce the problem in Firefox 3.0.x (I couldn't in Safari, but that's not a big surprise).

Alright, so I downloaded Firefox 3.0.17 ... Sirius player works fine.

I restarted Camino after downloading the updated Flip4Mac, and now the Sirius player totally locks Camino up.

OK, good -- we know the Flip4Mac problem isn't confined to 10.6, and we know that it's Camino-only. And we know it's a regression from the previous version, where that didn't happen.

Can you get a sample (using Activity Monitor) of Camino when it's hung, and then upload the resulting text file here? I'd like to see if it's the same sample as what I posted.

That looks like pretty much the same thing. I'm going to see what I can do about getting Telestream to fix this on their end. Meanwhile, it appears you can download older versions from their site:

I'd suggest reverting back to whatever version you last used before this latest upgrade.

That hang looks pretty much the same as the one in bug 534812.
The only version of F4M I found to be working with Camino is 2.2.3.7
