Go to www.google.com/news 2. Pan down to a link 3. Ctrl+click on a link to open it as a tab in the background 4. Start panning back up to the top of the page in the current tab Actual Results: Panning is choppy/jumpy Expected Results: Panning should be smooth as the content being panned to has already been loaded and the page load happening in the background is not active and, thus, should not be negatively affecting the user's experience with the current tab.
Not an easy fix for this now. Loading a page happens in the main UI thread, and most of the time spent loading is not actually rendering content.
