Items in the toolbar menus can't be disabled. e.g., this doesn't seem to do anything: jetpack.menu.tools.item("Clear Recent History").disabled = true; It doesn't work in a beforeShow handler either. Happens on Windows, so it's not a weird Mac menu bar thing. Items in the page's context menu can be disabled OK. There's some deeper problem, because even after running this in the JS console the item (Clear Recent History) isn't disabled: Components.classes["@mozilla.org/appshell/window-mediator;1"]. getService(Components.interfaces.nsIWindowMediator). getMostRecentWindow("navigator:browser"). document. getElementById("sanitizeItem"). setAttribute("disabled", "true"); DOM Inspector shows that the attribute sticks after running this snippet, but it's removed as soon as the Tools menu is opened. Not sure what's going on.
We will be monitoring all these issues after the rebooted Jetpack code base is released in the first week of March to ensure their causes are not duplicated. Many of the bugs/issues with the prototype version of Jetpack will be made irrelevant given the structure of the new SDK.
