Where does it "spin"? How long did you want? Did you do Wireshark? When I reproduce, it says "Checking password...", then spins a while (30s?), then says "username or password invalid" (which is correct in this case). (That message also comes when something else goes wrong in password check, but that's a different bug.) In Wireshark, I see that TB is trying to log in with IMAP command 'login joe bla', and server says 'NO LOGIN Failed. Incorrect name and/or password...'. So: WORKSFORME.

(In reply to comment #3) > In Wireshark, I see that TB is trying to log in with IMAP command 'login joe > bla', and server says 'NO LOGIN Failed. Incorrect name and/or password...'. > Roland can you share a valid AOL ID with ben so he can try to reproduce with a working userid/password ?

Ops, sorry, I overread the "*valid* aol.com account". I have one (aim accounts are free).
