User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; Intel Mac OS X 10.6; en-US; rv:1.9.3a1pre) Gecko/20100119 Minefield/3.7a1pre Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; Intel Mac OS X 10.6; en-US; rv:1.9.3a1pre) Gecko/20100119 Minefield/3.7a1pre When I browse the given URL and scale the page to anything other than 100% (e.g. by pinch-zoom on a MacBook trackpad) scrolling is slow and jerky. On further investigation, the slow scroll is caused by a tall and narrow gif (4x1321 pixels) as a css background image to the body tag. When I remove the background gif using firebug, scrolling is normal again. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. go to jayisgames.com 2. scale the view of the page (e.g. pinch zoom on a MacBook trackpad) 3. scroll using mouse wheel or scrollbar Actual Results: Scrolling is jerky Expected Results: Scrolling is smooth

all 1.9.x releases are affected. 1.8.x support only text-only zoom what does not make the scrolling suck. text only zoom is fine on 1.9.x too.

Me too. 3.6.4b1. Example url: http://www.enterprisenetworkingplanet.com/news/article.php/3878391 has a 1x2900 background gif image.

I think this isn't an issue with latest versions of Firefox. Could someone test the URLs so that we can close as WORKSFORME?

Can't reproduce either. Looks like it is fixed. The site doesn't use such a background anymore, so I just made a page with an image in background as big as it was on that site.
