Since upgrading to 3.6, extensions will not install at all. I can select any one from the recommended list,

I select an extension as usual, install, the progress completes without error, and I am told to restart FF, which I do. The extension is NOT installed.

Running linux mint 7 - KDE edition (4.3.2).

Oh and yes I reset the extension manager by renaming the files in my profile directory. That did not help. Also note that running FF as root and installing an extension works. Just not as a standard user. This worked fine with 3.0 and 3.5.x - it stopped working with 3.6. I do not wish to - nor should I *need* to - run FF as root to have extensions install.

What directory are extensions saved to when they are downloaded? To the specified profile folder or elsewhere? That way I could at least see if they are being downloaded at all.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Select an extension (eg, Stumble Upon), click Install
2. Wait for download to complete, restart FF as requested
3. Check installed extensions.
Actual Results:  
Extension is not installed

Expected Results:  
Extension SHOULD be installed.
