Details
User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9.1.7) Gecko/20091221 Firefox/3.5.7 (.NET CLR 3.5.30729) Build Identifier: Thunderbird 3.0.1 Ever since updated from Thunderbird 2 to Thunderbird 3, I have been unable to use contact lists made up of contact lists. For example, I have a contact list made up of five to seven email addresses. I then have a contact list made up of several of these contact lists. The original contact list will work. The contact list made up of contact lists does not work. Thunderbird gives me an error message of: "Stewards Region I Greenfield <"Stewards Region I Greenfield">,Stewards Region I Holyoke <"Stewards Region I Holyoke">,Stewards Region I Northampton <"Stewards Region I Northampton">,Stewards Region I Pittsfield <"Stewards Region I Pittsfield">,Stewards Region I Springfield <"Stewards Region I Springfield">,Stewards Region I Van Wart <"Stewards Region I Van Wart"> is not a valid e-mail address because it is not of the form user@host. You must correct it before sending the e-mail." I tried deleting the contact list of contact lists and making a new one, but the error message repeats and the email does not go through. I tried searching for others with this problem. Evidently, it occurred in earlier versions. I did not find a fix. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. compose email 2. type in contact list 3. click SEND 4. seconds later, error message pops up Actual Results: as above
I just found a website where I could download and install Thunderbird 2. All was working well with my contact lists until I installed Thunderbird 3. Having reinstalled Thunderbird 2, all is well again. http://www.icewalkers.com/Linux/Software/521690/Thunderbird.html
