The windows toolbar reports new mail when there is none. I have run Thunderbird in previous versions for a long time and never had this issue before.

Reproducible: Always

As soon as you click get mail the icon disappears, only to reappear next time it checks the server.

Do you still see this issue when using version 5 or 6 (due out in a week)?
- If you no longer see the problem, please set status to RESOLVED, and set resolution to WORKSFORME. (or perhaps INVALID, if you determined the problem is not Thunderbird)
