(2) Go to File->New options
(3) The 'new' option displays three 'instant message' options.
Is this required?

This bug report should have been in bugscape, not in bugzilla, since there is 
no "instant message" entry in the mozilla product.  In fact, I was about to add 
a comment saying that I couldn't reproduce this because I didn't see even a 
single "instant message" under file->new until I realized that this is 
commercial-tree only.  (Yes I can reproduce this in the commercial tree.)
