Steps to reproduce: -chose an IMAP account, -set up a filter with JA name and ascii string in the header; -send message with this criteria; //note: is not going to the destination folder (same is happening if filter would have an ascii name but JA key for header) (it is working fin for POP)
Reassign to alecf. Is this Macintosh specific? If not, please change "Platform" and "OS".

ugh, this is a dupe of a bug that ducarroz marked as a dupe of the japanese folder named bug. I thought we were going to be able to fix it by fixing RDF, but it looks like we aren't. Naoki- back to this issue (Again) - can we still take waterson's patch to RDF without breaking 8-bit folders?
Status: NEW → ASSIGNED
I applied the patch (09/18/00 11:04 attachment of bug 52165). 8 bit local folder still works. But I don't know any other place which might be affected by the RDF patch.
we have another bug for JA filter names not working - so I'm narrowing down this bug just to the case where the search term contains japanese characters.
Summary: IMAP:filter with JA name or JA key for header is not working → IMAP:filter with JA search term is not working
This is a Macintosh only bug. I recently fixed Macintosh local search problem, bug 54195. Marina, please test again to see if this still happens, thanks.
I used today's Macintosh branch build ID 2000100910. I tested IMAP with Japanese search term and it worked. I tested this with setting a message view default to "ISO-2022-JP".
