542718 - cannot unfold thread in news accounts

This is a bit tricky to describe as it doesn't happen 100% reproducible.
This is with 3.0.1.

Often when I open a newsgroup there are threads which are folded while others are unfolded by default. That alone is a bit strange in my view but the issue here is that I cannot unfold the thread by clicking on the left arrow. I also cannot remove the unread status from the (first) displayed message.
Once I choose this message it gets marked unread and the "unfold" arrow is starting to work so I can unfold the thread.

Nothing in the error console.

Does it also happens in -safe-mode ?

Does rebuidling your index for that newsgroup solves the issue ?

I have a hard time to reproduce on demand so it'll take a bit of time until I have more information.
