User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-GB; rv:1.9.2) Gecko/20100115 Firefox/3.6 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-GB; rv:1.9.2) Gecko/20100115 Firefox/3.6 It seems that in Firefox 3.6, the bookmark toolbar is not showing all the folders it has. It shows only one folder and seems to keep all the other folders hidden. Folders can be accessed via menu "Bookmarks -> Bookmark toolbar", though. Happens after closing FF and shutting computer down, then restarting everything. Reproducible: Sometimes Steps to Reproduce: 1. Make folders to bookmark toolbar 2. Close Firefox 3. Shutdown computer 4. Restart computer 5. Start Firefox 6. Doesn't always happen Actual Results: Bookmark toolbar showing just one folder instead of several Expected Results: Bookmark toolbar should show all the folders every time
Screenshot of Firefox 3.6 showing only one folder in Bookmark toolbar and the corresponding menu option showing all the folders.
Well I did test this a bit more and found out that some interesting info. I have set a master password and therefore Firefox asks it every time I run it. I noticed that if Firefox opens normally, shows main window and master password dialog on top of that, everything is fine. However, if Firefox leaves main window below all other windows and shows just the master password dialog on top of others, this bug is triggered.
does safe mode fix your issue? http://support.mozilla.com/kb/Safe+Mode could be a problem with windows focusing as you said, but first we need to know that it's not due to an add-on.
Ok, so more info. In the first place, the master password dialog is displayed because "Read it later" add-on needs it. So in safe mode this behaviour is not seen, as add-ons are disabled. But I have no idea what methods Read it later uses to display the master password dialog and what other variable things there are that might affect this.
Reporter, are you still seeing this issue with Firefox 3.6.13 or later in safe mode or a fresh profile? If not, please close. These links can help you in your testing. http://support.mozilla.com/kb/Safe+Mode http://support.mozilla.com/kb/Managing+profiles
