this is as much a question as it is a bug report. why aren't all my system's fonts available in firefox? It seems that barely 1 font in 10 display properly, the rest are displayed in a default font.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. generate font list from python script (included as attachment)
2. load resulting html in browser
Actual Results:
the output of this script is 3 columns: the font name, a selection of the default font, and the same selection in the given font. most of the fonts in the list are rendered in the default font, which you can verify visually.
Expected Results:
the system supports the fonts, so firefox should display them.
you need python and the pygame module to run this. the program outputs an HTML table (to stdout) containing a sample of all fonts installed on the system. you can then load the resulting page into your browser to see what fonts are rendered properly.
the output is a 3-column table: font name, example of default font, example of selected font. if the default and selected fonts look the same, it means the font isn't being rendered.
oops, ignore this. pygame.get_fonts() is mangling the font names.
