In gmail i have an email with :-(

Firefox shows L instead :-( or the smile.



Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.send a email with the chars   :-(     to your gmail account
2.open gmail and log in.
3.open the email. :-( does not appear. 

It's ocurrs in firefox 3.6 (and earlier) with windows (linux i don't know)
Actual Results:  
appears a L

Expected Results:  
:-( or a smile

perhaps in linux works fine.

I use firefox 3.6/windows xp sp2.

In Internet Explorer it works fine.
i don't see any smilies at all, in any browser.
do you have any non-default gmail and/or internet explorer settings enabled?

You can also try to reproduce in Firefox 4 Beta 8 or later, there are many improvements in the new version, http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all-beta.html

No reply, INCOMPLETE. Please retest with Firefox 3.6.13 or later and a new profile (http://support.mozilla.com/kb/Managing+profiles). If you continue to see this issue with the newest firefox and a new profile, then please comment on this bug.
