User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.0; en-US; rv:1.9.2) Gecko/20100115 Firefox/3.6 (.NET CLR 3.5.30729) Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.0; en-US; rv:1.9.2) Gecko/20100115 Firefox/3.6 (.NET CLR 3.5.30729) I have the network settings in FireFox to point to a SOCKS5 proxy. The FireFox config is also set to proxy DNS requests. When I shut down the proxy and restart FireFox, it will still retrieve a partial page even though I have ALL browser cache cleared and it's a page I've never been to before (read: it's not being cached). I have FireFox to clear all cache upon shutdown of the browser. Reproducible: Sometimes Steps to Reproduce: 1. Disable the proxy temporarily. 2. Go to "Help|Check for Updates..." and then upgrade from one version to another (this time it was 3.5.7 to 3.6). 3. BEFORE restarting FireFox to install the update I re-enable the proxy settings in FireFox. 4. Also BEFORE restarting FireFox I shut down the proxy server. This is to test for leaks. 4. Restart FireFox. 5. After install the browser starts and tries to direct me to http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/3.6/whatsnew/ Actual Results: I get a partial page. I end up with most of the text for the web page, but no graphics and one iframe (apparently?) is completely blocked and contains "The proxy server is refusing connections" (just like it should) but otherwise the rest of the requests got through! Expected Results: It should block everything since the proxy server is down. An screen capture of what I see after I restart FireFox is here: http://s127138965.onlinehome.us/FireFoxProxyIssue.png I will leave this up for at least 90 days.

I got to thinking... Could this have something to do with Addons possibly not being completely enabled before the "updated" page starts to load? This would cause a leak....
Are you still able to reproduce this on a more recent version of Firefox?
