Details

As stated in the summary, Cisco PIX Device Manager (PDM) 3.0 no longer opens with FF 3.6. It worked in FF 3.5.7. O/S used is XP Pro. Background information about PDM: * It's a Java applet-based user interface to manager Cisco PIX (firewall devices), opened through HTTPS. * It might be necessary to mention that the applet is opened in a new browser window. * Due to some other bugs introduced by Java, this interface cannot be open using the latest JRE (JRE 6u18). However, if JRE is downgraded to 6u10 (together with FF 3.5.7), the interface can be open without problem. Please tell me what other informations are necessary for this bug report. PS: FF 3.6 is a real plugin-breaker! As a side-note, VMWare Console is also broken in this version.
Component changed to "Extension Compatibility" because of no activity, though it's rather a plugin issue more than extension issue.

Since even the actual version only supports XP and Win2000 I think this bug is no longer relevant. http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/products/collateral/security/pix-device-manager/product_data_sheet0900aecd802854ee.html
The "XP and 2000" statement has to be interpreted as "minimal requirement", because if the correct versions of FF and JRE are installed in Win7, Cisco PDM still works. I'm not sure why you think this bug is no longer relevant because this bug will always be marked as related to version 3.6 and thus relevant to it. It is ALWAYS possible to fix a bug, but it's just that in reality, nobody would like to do so when the audience is not big enough to be heard. On my side, I have to use one of the following workarounds: 1. install old version of FF inside a virtual machine, 2. use the "Firefox side-by-side" technique if I need both new and old versions of FF (http://blog.andreloker.de/post/2008/06/Firefox-2-and-3-side-by-side.aspx) So, it's sad but I think I have to close this as WONTFIX.
