User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.1; en-US; rv:1.9.2) Gecko/20100115 Firefox/3.6 GTB6 Build Identifier: Thunderbird/3.0.1 Display headers options are "All and Normal" The normal eats up far to much of the message viewing area and therefor you should have an option for "Non" and or an option to go full screen in order to see as much of the message as possible going full screen My screen is highest res 9 by 16 format and all you see of most pictures in a wide narrow band. Not good Thanks Bill Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.? turn on 2.select message to view 3. Actual Results: You see the selected message but its viewing area appears as a wide narrow band Expected Results: You should be able to maximize the viewing area of the message to the fullest size possible if you wish. Otherwise it's like trying to see through a crack between barn boards I just love this new 20 Jan 2010 version. I think it's the best I have ever seen

There are a couple addons that do this: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/thunderbird/addon/14369 https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/thunderbird/addon/13564 You can also open the message in a new tab/window to get more space.

Bill, if those suggestions work for you, would you mind marking this bug Resolved Invalid? [The extra-large header is known and accepted, which would indicate a WONTFIX, but the tab/window solution exists in Thunderbird already, so I think INVALID is a better marker.] Thanks for the ideas, and keep them coming!
Sorry I am not familiar with your system of vetting the problems and the solutions. What I can say is that I was already using the tab solution but wanted to see more of the body of the text after I had selected it to read. What I chose was the addon/13564 solution that I was offered by Nathan Tuggy (thank you)and it helped very much by freeing up much more of the screen. In a perfect world I would like a full screen solution so that the hi res jpegs could be seen all in one go without having to scroll around. As I see it the Inbox screen allows me to choose what I want to see. The tabs allow me to move back and forth within what I've looked at, but selecting a tab is or should be the money shot. It should give me the best possible view of the body of the text/ attachments. On this 9 by 16 format there is space to burn on the ends. Therefore information could go there while freeing up the very limited height of the screen. Thanks guys!!!

I do not know what you want me to say or do. Having the means to toggle into full screen, uncluttered by headers or footers (anything above and below the body) could offer something quite unique and appealing to all users. You could then see as much of "the message" as your zoom and or positioning would allow and when you have seen enough, you could use an F key (or=)to toggle yourself back out to where you can see your tabs and other housekeeping tools etc. Take care
A thought just occurred to me. Rather then (as I suggested) toggling to full screen and back. Why confine scrolling just to the information within the text window? Why not scroll everything on the screen. That way when you scrolled down all the informational text along the top would of the screen would disappear and be replaced by the information in the body of the text (perhaps a picture) that you are interested in viewing. Just food for thought.
