Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux x86_64;
The first fraction of a second of playback when the audio src is an OGG will cause an audible pop, or chirp (when played using autoplay). Probably due to the same issue, a second attempt to play the file, using the play button after the first play completes, will cause the first fraction of a second to stutter for the first eighth of a second or so.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/c/c8/Example.ogg
Another sample OGG is in this post (click first Download link to get at .ogg file)
http://sgornick.posterous.com/no-subject-1189
Actual Results:
For the first play (autoplay), I hear a pop before the speaker starts saying the word "This". On the second play (manually hit play button), I hear the first fraction of the file repeated: "This is This is an example [...]".
Expected Results:
Expected the .ogg to have playback sound just as it does when the media is played using any media player (such as MPlayer, or the flash player from the Posterous link, above), without these audible artifacts.
Also, if the audio element doesn't have autoplay but a Javascript issues an audio.play(), that will cause the stutter / repeat just as if the user had manually pressed the Play button.

What version of Firefox are you using? I don't hear any kind of chirp with current trunk builds on Windows 7 or Fedora 12 in a VM.

Ok, so I reported it because it was occuring in my FF 3.5, but when I tried the latest nightly 3.7 (3.7a2pre) the audio worked perfectly. So, am marking this as fixed.
