The editor.singleLine.pasteNewlines preference determines what happens with newlines when pasting in a single-line text field; this is particularly useful with the value set to 2, turning newline into spaces. In SeaMonkey 1, this worked when pasting in the location bar as well, allowing usecases such as copy/pasting addresses into the location bar, together with a custom shortcut for google maps, for really easy address location. In SeaMonkey 2 (including today's 20100211 2.1apre nightly) this has stopped working. :(
FWIW, this isn't a new regression; it was already broken as far back as 20080924175508 (2.0a1), and doesn't work in Firefox either.
