There are many extensions that don't live on AMO. Currently, if you view the "Extensions" tab on Socorro, you don't get names for them. See the URL for an example, that particular crash has several, including IETab, some VMWare extension, and Java.

It would be nice if we had a way to supplement the AMO info, so that we could fill in the blanks for extensions that don't live on AMO. Even just being able to associate GUID->Name for these extensions would probably make life better.

A similar ticket has been added to AMO at https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=543793

I've spoken with davedash and wenzel, and there was still discussion going on about whether this sort of a tool should reside in AMO or outside AMO.

Ah, thanks! I personally don't care on which side it resides, as long as it's possible to put this info somewhere.
