User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9.0.17) Gecko/2009122116 Firefox/3.0.17 (.NET CLR 3.5.30729) Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9.0.17) Gecko/2009122116 Firefox/3.0.17 (.NET CLR 3.5.30729) Setup a printer (on LPT1) , use 'Generic/Text Only' as the driver (it is supplied by default on Windows XP). Open a web-page with Firefox (any web-page, preferably containing only text), print the page using this printer.. Firefox prints a blank page. (Internet Explorer prints the page properly). Background: I need to print webpages from firefox onto a dot-matrix printer, firefox prints the text in 'Graphics' mode, that is, a single character is printed in multiple passes, thus causing excessive noise and approx 5 times slower printing. So added another printer this time using 'Generic / Text Only' driver from microsoft (present by default on XP). Now the web-page is printed in character mode if I use Internet Explorer, but firefox prints nothing (actually it prints a blank page, because printer spews out an empty page). Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Setup a printer (on LPT1), use 'Generic/Text Only' as the driver (it is supplied by default on Windows XP). 2.Open a web-page with Firefox (any web-page, preferably containing only text), print the page using this printer.. 3.Firefox prints a blank page. Actual Results: Firefox prints a blank page Expected Results: It should have printed the page in character mode (just like Internet Explorer does or notepad does) Is there any way of efficiently printing text from web-pages onto a dot-matrix printer using firefox? Printing 1 line of characters in several passes is slow, inefficient and loud and is generally unacceptable..
