Which PDF Plugin and version do you have installed to view PDF files ?
If you use Adobe Acrobat: What is your setting, display them inline or in an external Acrobat viewer window ?
Summary: PDF FILES DO NOT LOAD IN 3.6 → PDF do not load in 3.6

This issue still exists BUT is intermittent. Using Firefox 3.6.13 and Adobe Reader 9, set to display inline. opening pdf files often causes a blank error dialog to open followed by a black screen. All future attempts to open a pdf will give the same result until reboot windows (restarting Firefox only is no help). pdfs will then open normally, perhaps for several hours before problem recurs.
I have just uninstalled 3.6.13 and installed 3.5.16. In 3.5.16 same problem occurs except that opening file gives white screen instead of black screen AND after attempting to open the same file several times, correct operation will be restored - ie progress bar appears, gradually updates then file appears as expected.
