I had an old message in a folder that was sent with white text on a black background. In seamonkey, it displays white on white.
It seems like the background color is not displayed at all in HTML mail. This must be corrected -- I just migrated all my mail to Mozilla and it causes trouble... Also have a look at bug 54455 ...
I'm pretty sure this is a dup of 40546 *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 40546 ***
