Several servers have problems with *manually* entered URLs that contain extended characters like åøæ.
All of the following links work fine when clicked. However, the first two won't work when entered manually, or copied & pasted, or even just when clicking the address bar when the page is loaded and pressing Enter to reload.
These don't work when entered manually:
* http://search.yahoo.com/search?p=Ålesund
* http://www.bing.com/search?q=Ålesund
However, these do work:
* http://www.google.com/search?q=Ålesund
* http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ålesund
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open the URL http://search.yahoo.com/search?p=Ålesund
2. After the page has opened, click the address bar (or press Alt+D or Ctrl+L).
3. Press Enter to reload the URL.
Actual Results:
The search page for "lesund" is loaded.
Expected Results:
The search page for "Ålesund" should be loaded.
This bug seems to be related to #507815, however this one is unrelated to the "Language for non-Unicode programs" setting, and does not cause problems on every site.
