Please do not insert "--" at the beginning of a signature. My default signature contains:

<Complimentary Close>

<Name>

--
<Contact Information 1>
<Contact Information 2>
<Contact Information 3>

I do not require or desire "--" to be automatically inserted into the beginning of my signature.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Set a signature
2. Create new email
3.
Actual Results:
Inserts "--" into the head of the signature

Expected Results:
Just insert signature as typed - don't make assumptions
Note that the conventional signature separator is '-- ' on a line by itself -- the space is essential.
A brief trial suggests that if you in fact have the correct separator anywhere in the signature, Thunderbird will politely refrain from inserting it at the top.
If this doesn't work, please reopen.

Works correctly. The space after "--" was missing.
