I was about to file a bug on this behavior as a regression, when I spotted the SUMO article. This behavior confused me no end when I had three or four tabs open, saying "mozilla1.9.2 mozill...", and I couldn't tell which one was the tab I'd just opened.

I don't think we'll expose the option as it is now. Maybe that will be reconsidered if it changes to be broader in scope (tabs always on the right).
