This is definitely a symptom of malware on your system. You'll want to run additional tools to scan for and remove malware if your current anti-virus or similar product isn't finding anything. Have you tried Microsoft's Malicious Software Removal Tool? The only reason to leave this bug open is if you think Firefox was the source of the infection. Do you have any reason to believe this is the case? Do you remember what you were doing immediately before this behavior started?
