Description

User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; de; rv:1.9.1.8) Gecko/20100214 Ubuntu/9.10 (karmic) Firefox/3.5.8
Build Identifier:

An extension repository contained a malicious and a harmless extension, both detected by Anti Virus software.

It would be great to have the option to block suspicious files (with an alert, but not yet analysed) from loading/installing till there is more information.

If the file is definitely malicious, triggering an alert for the user and an automated uninstall on all firefox/thunderbird... instances out there that have this extension installed would be important.

This will not prevent malicious extensions from being spread, but it will clean up the mess afterwards. Even for users not reading computer news.

For that a blacklist will have to be maintained that is updated regularly by the browser.

Thanks

Reproducible: Always
