Resizing the window as described in a similar bug report for Windows does not help. Even worse, sometimes message filters get disabled somehow. does this show if you start thunderbird in -safe-mode ? What happens if you erase locastore.rdf from your profile ?

Seems that this was the fault of the Nautipolis theme. If I use the default, then the problem is gone. Sorry, I should have checked this first. Many thanx anyway.
