User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X 10.4; en-US; rv:1.9.1.7) Gecko/20091221 Firefox/3.5.7
Build Identifier: 3.0.1

If a new folder is created under 3.0.1, and emails are copied into this new folder, the copy will repeat itself infinitely (shows that its indexing on the status bar below but quotas and space is getting filled up fast). Example: if you copy 100 emails, it continues to copy the second time, third time to the nth time.

Killing the client did not stop the process because the general imap space is getting used up fast still. This is probably because the amt of emails copied was huge at that time. Eventually imap server has to be restarted then the space stopped getting filled up. Subsequently tests were repeated and found that restarting the imap server was not necessary anymore but problem still exists with the new folder.

Suspect that the new folder when created, has a corrupt manifest file and does not know what to do when the copy is done, and just repeats itself. This is critically crippling as we have to downgrade the users...please provide a fix for this as there is no other alternate options for an email client at this point, everyone loves Thunderbird but this release is causing such serious problems.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. upgrade fro 2.0.0.X to 3.0.1
2.make a new imap folder
3.copy/move emails from another imap folder to the new folder
Actual Results:
The indexing starts and repeats itself over and over, space and quota gets filled up, client becomes unusable. The degree to this may depend on the numbers of emails copied/moved.

Expected Results:
As described in "Actual Results"

If should have done whats its told, mainly move or copy, but just ONCE.
The client also because unusable (will hang or freeze).
Please try to get an IMAP log by following the directions at https://wiki.mozilla.org/MailNews:Logging. Also, does this happen in Safe Mode (https://support.mozillamessaging.com/en-US/kb/Safe+Mode - no connection to Windows Safe Mode), and are there any error messages in Tools -> Error Console?

This sounds like a core IMAP problem rather than a specifically Thunderbird, although it may be database or backend-related as well or instead.
