We've been talking recently about issues with the current autocomplete window UI and the use-cases it doesn't serve, particularly those who use bookmarks as more of a collection of reference books rather than necessarily as just/only places they visit often.

Stuart mentioned in the meeting today that he'd always thought we would move to an integrated ranking system once all the work was done (and that Dan had an improved ranking system in mind--probably bug 504879).

We need to make sure that the final system takes into account the use-cases of those people who really like the current, separated system as well as those users who are more history-focused.
Stuart said he'd try to get to this for b1.

If this is slow, perhaps some of the dissatisfaction can be obviated by showing the history results first (like they used to be) and the bookmark results (which are new anyway) below that?

This makes a single list of ten items, mixing bookmarks and history according to visit counts, but giving bookmarks a 10% boost (completely made up; we'll have to see how it feels to people).

Assumes the patch for bug 504876 (and fixes an issue I discovered that only comes up if you run the same query twice with a lower limit the second time, which happens frequently with this enumerator approach).

Landed http://hg.mozilla.org/camino/rev/91c328695b42 (as with the other bug, this will be reviewed after the fact.)

We'll see how this works for people in b1, and adjust as necessary. I've left the code for showing title cells in so that we can easily go back to something with categories if we want to.
