When you have multiple ( >1 ) tabs open in a window, the first tab is not 'closable', yet when the first tab is the active tab, File->Close is enabled but does not do anything.

To reproduce:
- Open multiple tabs in a window
- Select the first (leftmost) tab
- Note that File->Close (Command-W on Mac) is enabled (the bug)
- Select File->Close
- Note nothing happens (as expected for first tab)

Suggest that File->Close should be disabled (dimmed) when viewing the first tab.
