User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; Intel Mac OS X 10.6; en-US; rv:1.9.2) Gecko/20100115 Firefox/3.6 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; Intel Mac OS X 10.6; en-US; rv:1.9.2) Gecko/20100115 Firefox/3.6 Many people have complained that the OS-X download icons should have a changing icon to show progress like Safari does. I'm not into untamed Chrome-copying, but they just released something better than that in their newest developer preview (IMO). They put a badge representing the download on the dock icon. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Download a file that takes a while to download Actual Results: Progress is shown in the downloads manager Expected Results: A badge will also appear above the dock icon.

Note that it's a badge with the current number of downloads with a pie chart behind that number showing its percentage progress

see bug 71657 for the progressbar on the file that is downloaded. A progress bar (or badge) on the dock icon was not yet proposed in Firefox (mainly because it's a multi-platform application) ; bug 183884 was for Camino but was WONTFIX'ed. I'm no sure if this will ever be implemented like this, other platforms have chosen to place the animation elsewhere (bug 378276, bug 418496)
