Since we're EOLing 1.6.x with this release, I think that we should probably have some additional or different text for the update description, probably something like the intro paragraphs of the Release Notes. As an example, this is the relnote text we used for 1.0.6 when we EOLed 10.2 support (note we've changed some of the general relnote language since then, so we may want to merge): Camino 1.0.6 is a security and stability update for Camino 1.0.x users running Mac OS X 10.2.8. Camino 1.0.6 will be the last update in the 1.0.x series and is thus the last version of Camino to support Mac OS X 10.2. All users on Mac OS X 10.2.8 are recommended to upgrade to this version; all users of Mac OS X 10.3 or higher should upgrade to Camino 1.5.x instead.
So something like this, except perhaps with some sprinkled in somewhere?
Camino 1.6.11 is a security and stability update for Camino 1.6.x users running Mac OS X 10.3.9. Camino 1.6.11 will be the last update in the 1.6.x series and is thus the last version of Camino to support Mac OS X 10.3.

All users on Mac OS X 10.3.9 are urged to upgrade to this version; all users on Mac OS X 10.4 or higher should upgrade to Camino 2.0.x instead.

For details, see the release notes.

Sam suggested bolding the second paragraph, which is what I had been thinking about doing, too.

Comment on attachment 429618 [details] Draft 1.6.11-en sr=smorgan. Per irc it would be nice if the 10.4+ part were removed (since only 10.3.9 users will see this update notification) but if that makes the translations tricky I think we can spare a few extra electrons.

Marcello, can you comment on Stuart's comment? Should it be easy enough for everyone to delete the bits after the ; in the second paragraph, or would it be easier to have those first two paragraphs matching exactly the paragraphs in the Release Notes? I'll mail the list about the Release Notes and this file once we have a decision here.
I think the 10.4 part should be easily deleted and that shouldn't be too much work for the l10n teams.
OK, here's the final version, ready for translation.

Comment on attachment 430642 [details] 1.6.11-ja Hrm, seems we've not been consistent with the naming; I think this should be 'ja' but we've mostly been using 'jp'. I need to remember to run a test to see what works.

I need to remember to run a test to see > what works. So, since time immemorial, we've been serving all of our Japanese users an English update description despite waverider having provided a Japanese one :p (except for Cm2.0, where we got it right). Yay us!
