+++ This bug was initially created as a clone of Bug #548757 +++ Hey guys: We need create a stylized affiliate button page for each locale. One thing we need to figure out: where will we host the images + how do we generate the individual code for each button? I grabbed the html for the EN buttons by putting them on SFx and then copying and pasting the code for each. If we're going to do this way we need to rope in Buchanan asap. Will attach all the final button images here as well. Thanks!
Hi Mary, The English version of this page, http://opentochoice.org/2010/03/buttons/ , is still linking to png files hosted on spreadfirefox and therefore part of the copy on this page (the html to be copied/pasted) shows this URL quite prominently. Shall we move these png files to opentochoice WP media library and update copy accordingly? Thanks Francois

We can leave it as is.
Not a big deal for me either. I think we just need to move forward :) Do you want the HTML code for FR & ES then?
Hi Mary & Alex, Happy to follow your lead on this, I just flagged it here because Travy mentioned it on basecamp. Francois
Mary, we will need to share the HTML code with Stas. He is the best placed to request implementation from local editors. Thanks Francois
Here is the code for the ES buttons: http://www.spreadfirefox.com/affiliates?category=67&locale=38#getbuttons Make sure you're not signed into SFx (this ensures the Sfx user id code is not present). More to come :) Thanks!

Sorry, having hard time following this bug. What exactly needs to happen for these locale before we close this bug? How does this bug affect for example a page like this: http://opentochoice.org/fr/2010/03/buttons/ ?

Hi Stas: No one wants to direct people externally to "Spread Firefox" to have to get their affiliate buttons. So the only option is have this page http://opentochoice.org/fr/2010/03/buttons/ in each language hosting the localized buttons. But I have gone ahead and loaded them to SFx anyway as backup and because SFx generates the HTML code for each button that we can purpose on button page. The links in comments 9, 10, 11 contain the various html strings for each of these localized buttons. Make anymore sense? I still think it's bit silly to be creating these new pages and not leveraging SFx ;-)

Hey Mary, thanks, that helps? Do we need to put these links (e.g. http://www.spreadfirefox.com/affiliates?category=67&locale=40#getbuttons) somewhere on opentochoice.org?
