after pressing Ctrl-F, when I type a word to search, at each minor break the cursor switches to the text on page, so when I continue the "quick search in page" activates and starts searching the rest of the word. Checking the box "start search while typing" is does NOT help. 

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. press Ctrl-F
2. start typing on the search-in-page bar
3. make a small pause
4. continue typing
Actual Results:  
only the last part of the word is found
the "search-in-page" bar crashed, the "quick search" one instead

Expected Results:  
full work is found, the search-in-page bar active until closed

This works fine for me. Please retry with a new profile, and report the adjustments in the configuration needed to reproduce the issue.

indeed, with a default profile everything works fine. As it used to be with my individual profile too, before upgrading to 3.6. It is quite hard to add all of my adjustments one by one, because I use a lot of customized options, the Yahoo bar, etc. And as long as I am not a developer, I have no idea at all about possible location of this bug. But I can attach the profile as it is, if you explain me how to do it.

A profile has all your private info, including history and all your passwords, so please don't attach it here.

In most cases the cause is a buggy add-on, a profile corruption or a changed setting. 
If there is a remaining issue with Firefox itself, please reopen this bug or file a new one. Resolving as Incomplete for now.

Thanks, Ria, for the hint. Apparently, it seems that this bug is associated with Fast Video Download 3.08 add-on. There is, however, no bug report on the developer's web site.
