See samples/html.html for an example. The focus ring around the textarea is visible, at least on Mac.
Tangentially related to this, I have a Firefox add on (It's All Text) that puts a little "edit" button next to textareas so that I can edit that text in my default native text editor. That little edit button is showing up over the canvas right next to the invisible textarea.
