From the php docs: http://php.net/manual/en/function.htmlentities.php htmlentities can take 4 arguments in php >= 5.2.3 From oremj's investigation personas.stage.mozilla.com has: [root@pm-app-personas01 ~]# php -v PHP 5.2.9 (cli) (built: Jun 23 2009 14:49:15) But in the logs for personas.stage.mozilla.com using htmlentities with 4 arguments gives an error: [Sun Mar 07 04:02:58 2010] [error] [client 10.2.76.133] PHP Warning: htmlentities() expects at most 3 parameters, 4 given in /var/www/personas/server/templates/header.php on line 9 Not sure why this would happen, but it blocks us from fixing bug 547412

Arg! Can it be updated? I think production is at least 5.2.3.

Yeah, but I am not sure what all the dependencies are for the upgrade, if we are using custom build packages for this, what additional packages need to be installed etc. Let me look at prod and I will comment here once I know more.

upgraded a whole bunch of stuff on that staging box. This should hopefully fix the problems you are seeing.
