An alert about a new email and a mail icon in the taskbar is shown only when a message is received in the default/first email account (IMAP) that I have. If a new message is received in the second account (IMAP as well), neither an alert nor taskbar icon is shown. 

Reproducible: Always



Expected Results:  
An alert and the taskabr icon should show up when a new message is received in any of the email accounts.

This behaviour happens even when running in a safe mode.

I found similar bugs regarding mail alerts but not any that would report the problem in this way.

The problem apparently lies somewhere else and has nothing to do with the account being 2nd/3rd/etc.

I've added 3rd IMAP account and it shows the alerts with no problem. The account is on the same server as the 2nd account (for which the alerts are not being shown) and has almost identical settings so the only thing that differs is mail account content (folders, mails).

After further testing, the problem is quite certainly related to the content of the account. If I delete all the folders/files in "[profile]/ImapMail/[server]/" then after the first start, the alerts are shown just fine. After the restart the alerts are not shown again.

This is reproducible for me but it is probably dependent on the account content.
Anything in Tools -> Error console ?

Does it also happens in -safe-mode ?

do you still see this problem when using a current version of thunderbird? 

And if you do not, please close bug report by changing resolution to worksforme
