From the gs topic: With START PAGE set to http://news.bbc.co.uk/ and tools > options checked to show the start page in the message pane - when performing a "search all messages" and clicking on one of the found emails, Thunderbird 3 does not show the email message in the message area, but shows the START PAGE only. With START PAGE set to www.google.co.uk (or the default) - searching works as expected (a restart of Thunderbird is required). ------ This is strange, but I expect bbc.co.uk is doing something that interferes with page loads. It doesn't seem to affect the normal 3-pane window though. Obviously it would be nice to fix this, but is there a need to show the start page in the gloda results window anyway?

Lee, does this reproduce for you?

(In reply to Wayne Mery (:wsmwk) from comment #1) > Lee, does this reproduce for you? howdy Wayne Mery, not with my default profile. it's fairly well tweaked, tho. i will try it in a new testing profile tomorrow and post back. just took my meds and i am wary of doing anything more complex than what i have tried. my tbird ua = Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; rv:31.0) Gecko/20100101 Thunderbird/31.2.0 my steps ... - tools/options/general - checked "when thunderbird launches, show the start page in the message area" - added "http://news.bbc.co.uk/" in the "location:" box - hit ok - restarted tbird - selected my default inbox in the folder tree - pressed ctrl-k to move to the global search box - entered "friday" and then hit the search icon in that search box - clicked on the 1st item the resulting list the result was a normal display of the expected msg. the top half of the screen area showed a msg list with one msg. the bottom half showed the contents of the msg. as i said, i will try this in a clean profile tomorrow and post back with the results. i'm having problems reading ... [*grin*] take care, lee
