+++ This bug was initially created as a clone of Bug #516477 +++

On startup of Thunderbird the dock count can appeared doubled, or increased at various times if updates are made during the cycle to check the unread counts.

The attached patch was originally in bug 516477 and has been moved here for tracking purposes. Bug 516477 originally fixed one related issue in 3.0.1, this bug tracks the case mentioned above for 3.0.4.

Carrying across Dan's r/sr and granting approval 3.0.4.

I just now updated to 3.0.4 but I am still seeing double count. Is there any caches I need to clear or something ?
Forgot to mention I use mac os x 10.5.8
Jithin, are you seeing the double count on startup, or after you've been running for a while? The fix was only for the former. If you look in bug 516477, you'll see instructions for how to generate a log that produces diagnostic information about this problem.
Jithin: If you are still seeing issues, and can generate a log as David's asked, please file a new bug for it as this one is already marked as fixed and comments on closed bugs easily get lost.
I noticed this after thunderbird restarted after applying the update. Then I rebooted my system and now count appears fine.

If I notice this again I will file a new bug.
I apologize - can someone point me to a dev version with the fix or the process to getting the log files again? I'm on 3.0.4 and I'm still having this problem consistently. If I rebuild the mailbox, it goes away for a short time, then comes back and stays that way.
See https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=516477#c101 for information logging, and the logging module to use. If you can reproduce this, you might want to log both IMAP and DockCounts
I'm currently experiencing this issue on 3.0.4, and i've managed to log the DockCounts, its doing something mighty odd! At least on my system.

Its fine at start up, but leave it for a while, and eventually the DockCount doubles, for some reason it lists my primary imap account twice, but with the second one changing the username (in this case archer@priorityonline.net) to archer%40priorityonline%2Enet ??
