In collaboration with the marketing folks, we decided to morph the Weave brand into an umbrella (Weave) with associated sub-brands (Sync, Connect, Share, Contacts) and start to downplay the role of the logo.

Would you be able to create wordmarks for Weave Sync, etc using FF Meta? Similar to our discussion about the Mozilla Labs rebranding...

Not sure if that works out - but how would it look like if we use different colors for the individual pieces, e.g. Weave Sync has Weave in black and Sync in yellow. Weave Connect has Weave in black again and Connect in blue...  Your graphic advise is needed on this one!

I'm fairly new to this too.  

Not sure what was discussed with marketing, but Pascal and I discussed sub-brands within Labs and using Meta Roman as the font for the text added to the project name.

We're now exploring color for each (if needed) and apparently there is a call for downplaying the weave knot - which will disappear anyway once uplifted I assume. We'd most likely end up with a sync style icon for the service.

That's a good summary - John, let's sit down and talk about this.  I had initial discussions with Ragavan & Tracy about this.  The main goal is to position Weave in a way which makes it easy to turn it into whatever we decide will be the final brand (which most likely won't be Weave).

After discussing this with John today, we would like to make the "Weave" part of the wordmark smaller (to already start the process of downplaying the Weave brand in favor of the sub-brands, such as Sync).

Colors are great. So let's keep the colors, the font and come up with a solution to make the "Weave" part of the logo less prominent. :)
