For some reason, I cannot download and install Firefox past 1.5 without it continuously crashing. I have tried to dl 2.0, 2.5. 3.0-3.6

ALl of these continue to crash whenever I install them. I have found nothing in any form of troubleshooting yet. I am running windows on a laptop, and I am using WIndows 7 premium.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Go to the mozilla fiefox dl (3.6) website
2. Download & Install Mozilla
3. Stat Mozilla Firefox 3.6
Actual Results:
I am not sure on any other steps, in case this isnt a problem for anyone else, I cannot say how to reproduce the problem.

Expected Results:
The "Crash Report" of Mozilla firefox continues to come up until I exit out of the attempt to retore the tabs, even when it hasnt opened yet.

I have tried to reinstall all these versions, and all of them continue to do the same thing. SOme of the applications and websites I use online are phasing out Firefox 1.5. The only thing I have not tried is to reinstall windows 7.

Um, you should use 1.5, it's extremely old, and pretty outdated. I would download and install 3.6, then, give a stacktrace. https://developer.mozilla.org/En/How_to_get_a_stacktrace_for_a_bug_report
Also, try a new profile. http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Managing+profiles
yeah, but if it's crashing on startup he's not going to get to about:crashes (the ID's should be listed in your application data folder, under Firefox\Crash Reports\submitted)

Most likely there's something incompatible installed on your machine. When you reinstall do you first make sure the old directory is empty? There might be some left over incompatible file if you just install on top of the old one. Delete the mozilla firefox directory entirely, or select a custom install so you can specify a new directory.

Then you could try starting in "Safe Mode" (instructions on the support site linked above). There may still be some kinds of extra software not disabled by Safe Mode, if it's still crashing get back to us and we'll try some of the more remote possibilities.
Danel, that article has a section entitle: "How to get the crash ID if Firefox crashes on startup" So, reporter, thatsection willgive you some help.
