User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-GB; rv:1.9.2) Gecko/20100115 Firefox/3.6 (.NET CLR 3.5.30729) Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9.1.8) Gecko/20100227 Lightning/1.0b1 Thunderbird/3.0.3 When I show the Task List at the bottom of the Today Pane, I cannot add a new task; the entry box is displayed inactive, with the text "Please Select a Calendar that Supports Tasks". However, there is no control connected to this interface for carrying out this instruction. I understand that the message is because the GData provider does not support task creation, but it is not at all obvious as a user that I have a particular calendar "selected", or where I have to go to change this selection. It turns out that the "selected" calendar is whichever is highlighted on the left hand side of the Calendar / Task List view, which has no visual connection to the Today Pane. It would make more sense to have a drop-down box next to the task entry field to select which calendar new tasks were entered under. Alternatively, if the notion of a global "selected" calendar must stay, its existence should be made much more obvious in the UI. This is related to bug 412800, which is about which calendars are *included* in the Today Pane, where this is about which calendar is "selected"; there may be a UI design which solves both issues.
