Details

reading some feedback about PR3, some users were unable to use the installer
because there was no proxy support.

this bug is to track that.
I'll assume this is a Linux bug and that we already have a Mac RFE on this.

Could you arrange for the Netsape.com PR3 download pages (and eventually RTM
pages too) to contain a footnote to direct people to the Linux and Mac blobs if
their network requires the use of proxies for ftp download?  Proxy support is a
feature request that will not be funrished by RTM: maybe next release.  Thanks.

Yeah, Dan, bug 37189 can be morphed into the mac manifestation of this Linux bug.

Umm..this is WINDOWS as well...I was able to use the installer in PR2, but
couldn't use it in PR3. I entered the proxy information in, etc, and when the
installer tried to download, it IMMEDIATELY failed.

That would be a different bug then. We think the windows one works with 
proxies and it has a place for proxy info (unlike mac or linux). If it's 
failing the cause is going to be completely different (i.e. a bug rather than 
something not even implemented) so combining bugs in that way doesn't help.

Please write a bug against the windows version giving your system and proxy 
details, thanks.
