in the latest version of FireFox 3.6 using either the keyed "command+N" or "Open new window" from the dropdown has no result. Then about a minute later the new window comes on screen. Same problem is happening with pop-up windows on all sites. tested it out on CNN.com.
I am on an iMAC / 3.06 GHz Dual Intel Core 2 / OS 10.5.8
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. keyed "command+N" or "Open new window" from the drop down
Actual Results:
1. no response... then...
2. 35 sec to 1 minute later pop up comes on/ new window opens
it is definitely app related. asking to open a new window on my desktop ensues an instant response as does new windows in other browser apps. such as Safari.
The following bugs report undesired or missing window-opening behavior, usually on a Mac OS build: 490225, 509169, 467113, 263434, 547413, 535782, 552658. The last two may be duplicates of one another.
It is getting to the point that I can't use FF anymore on my Mac. When I am using any application that opens a small pop up window when I click a link, I have to wait more than one minute for the window to open. It has taken so long to open the window sometimes, that I have moved on to something else and then suddenly the window opens. This does not happen when I am opening a link to an external site. The new tab or window opens quickly.

BTW I am using a Mac Pro with an Intel processor. When I use FF on my Vista laptop and go to the same website/programs this is not a problem.
Rod, do you have the Flashblock Add-On installed? I was experiencing this problem, or something very much like it, and it went away after I disabled Flashblock. See this similar bug for more info:
