From Bugzilla Helper:
User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux 2.4.0-test6 i686; en-US; m18) Gecko/20001004
BuildID: 2000100409

Mozilla crashes on this page due to the java applet. The applet seems to load
and start running, but moz crashes. If I dont have the oji plugin installed,
mozilla has no problem with this page (other than complaining about the lack of
oji :).

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1.start mozilla with oji plugin installed

Actual Results: Mozilla crashes shortly after the applet on the page loads.

Expected Results: Mozilla shouldnt crash and the applet should happily run :)

The oji plugin I'm using is the one from netscape 6 pr3. I just copied the
contents of plugins/ from my pr3 install to plugins/ in my mozilla directory, If
this is not the proper way to get java working in mozilla, let me know.

The applet runs properly in appletviewer from suns jdk 1.3

here's what gets printed to the console:

Create instance called in JavaPluginFactory5!!!!!!!!
 Succeeding in creating proxy

initilizing the java plugin instantance

Finally got the java plugin working so I could test this (you can install it at
I didn't get a crash but performance on clarkson's page is pretty terrible but
that might be due to the jre rather than mozilla and it's probably a separate
issue either way.

I downloaded the plugin (does exist some mirror? the server is the slowest

The console output of the whole session (from startup to crash... sorry, but
talkback does not catch the crash) follows:
